There are many people (clergy and laity) that have caused people to be 'Slain in the Spirit'
It is fruitful for people to understand what this means. If there are some scientific readers in the medical profession - please let us try to understand what the act of being slain actually means and the processes that it may entail.
For clergy - please let our readership have an understanding what the spiritual aspects of being slain means and how it is induced? Does it mean deliverance, healing or what? What Should we try to learn how to do this or is being 'Slain in the Spirit' an incorrectly applied doctrine? What is your opinion.

Being Catholic, I see this quite a bit. To my knowledge (in the Catholic church), it is only at official healing services that this takes place. The priest has has a gift of healing through faith (or he doesn't), but it is under this context. Interstingly, I went to two services about 6 months apart, same priest. The first time, I felt nothing. The second time, was wonderful. I didn't fall over though, nor was that my purpose or wish. It happened to my Mom though. She fell over, and didn't move for fifteen minutes. She said she felt so much love she thought she was in heaven. The priests that do this, don't really know what happens. Why some people fall, some don't, some experience God and others do not is a good question. I don't have an answer. It is not deliverence though. If someone can be delivered in this vein, without some directed articulation from the the blesser or recipient, it would probably be a rare event. Incidently, physical healings are probably rare as well in this setting. But spiritual joy, tears, that kind of thing, I see a lot.

The post is to provoke your thoughts to develop an understanding as what is happening as one is being 'slain in the Spirit?'
The term 'slain in the Spirit' cannot be define by scripture nor is there been confirmable authentication on what happens during this process. As with many mysteries that Christians encounter during their lifetime - the being 'slain in the Spirit' should be narrowed in definition and the experience define by emperical explanation. Could it withstand a spiritual definition when there is nothing in science or the physical world knowledge base that can define the term? Regrettably, the answer is no.
Having experienced many thousands of these phenomenons, a distinct pattern emerges with people actually experiencing the sensations. The readership's participation is invited to develop a sound understanding as to what actually occurs during this event.
