I ask this because of a question from a contact concerning if God is all-powerful. Is He Omnipotent?

True, Creation......this is one aspect of God that I dwelt upon once in my life and received a healing from it as He imparted it to me in a way that has encouraged me to reach for Him ever since that day.
I spent well over a week mediating on how all power belongs to God. And that if God has 'all' power, that satan really had 'no' power and certainly not over me if I was truly God's.
Suddenly it was like a light bulb flashed.....I don't know how to explain it other then to say that I knew that I could not be sick. I was instantly well! I even felt the warmth of the Holy Spirit flow over me from head to toe....the strongest I've ever felt Him in my life to this day....I was only 16 at the time.
It wasn't that my conscience reached some high level, but that His Mind was imparted to me by Him in a way I still don't have words to describe! Also, it was so tremendous that I couldn't hang on to it!
I was like Peter who for one glorious moment in time got to stand on that water with Jesus! Sadly, I too looked down.
But what inspiration it has given me to reach for His Mind. I hunger for it more then anyting in the world. I agree with David...."Oh how I love thy Law!...it is my mediation all the day!" Ps. 119:97

Hi Sentinel
To God who alone is Almighty, there is NOTHING impossible. Nor can there be a boundary set to infinity.
With God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26; Mark 10:27; Luke 18:27).
The ever blessed God took six days to re create the universe in Genesis 1. But, He could as well re create the universe in a moment of time (He speaks things into existence - He creates out of nothing) if He had so determined. It was the putting forth of His almighty power that caused it to happen.
What that power can do, there is no one who can tell, except He who possesses it.
But to argue that just because He has the power to do it, then it is His will to do it, is bad logic in the schools in heaven.
God does whatever He pleases, both in Heaven and on earth (Revelation 4:11).
God created all the spiritual laws and all the physical laws. The spiritual laws override the physical laws. Like Jesus walking on water that defies the law of gravity.
What God so pleases to reveal to us, we know. What He has not so revealed are secrets locked up in His own eternal counsel.
Daniel 12:9 ... the words are closed and sealed till the time of the end Revelation 10: 4 .. seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.
It is a bold and presumptuous curiosity for any creature to inquire into the divine secrets not so revealed.
The enemy satan is limited by God Almighty as to what he can do. satan has to get permission from God almighty to afflict Job (Job 1:12; Job 2:6).
This vast universe is held in existence by the power of God's word (Hebrews 1:3) Creation exists because of God's Word and it is held together by God's Word.
It is important to know and understand the ways of God (e.g.God is love and love is God) in order to appreciate God's power.
Examples
If God had so wanted to save the whole world with His power, He could have moved mountains by pointing a finger. Then all man would have bowed down and worship God, not because they loved God but because they feared God's power. God does not want man to obey Him because they fear His power, but because they love God.
If God had so wanted, He could easily wave His hand and instantly remove all human sufferings from the earth. How then can man learn obedience? (Hebrews 5:8) We must love God enough to choose obedience rather than the gratifications on earth.
The feeding of the 5000 people. The people seek Jesus not because they saw the miracle but because they did eat and were filled - labour for the meat that perisheth (John 6:26-27) and they wanted to take Jesus by force and make him King (John 6:15).
Would it not have been better for God to create man and all creation perfect for then man could neither sin nor because of sin now subject to so much sorrow and sufferings? God is almighty but He chose not to do so.
God has not created man like a machine which would work automatically, nor has He fixed his destiny as in the case of the stars and planets that may not move out of their appointed course, but He has made man in His own image and likeness, a free will agent, possessed of understanding, determination and power to act independently. Hence, man is superior to all other created things.
Had man not been created a free agent, he would not have been able to enjoy God for he would have been a mere machine, that moves without knowing or feeling or like the stars that swing unknowingly through infinite space. But man, being a free agent, is by the constitution of his nature, opposed to this kind of souless perfection - a perfection of this kind would really have been imperfection - for such a man would have been a mere slave whose very perfection had compelled him to certain acts, in the doing of which he could have no enjoyment, because he had no choice of his own.
Every creature in Heaven know that God is love, but it had been hidden from all eternity that God's love is so wonderful until He would become man to save sinners, and for their cleansing would die on the cross. He suffered thus that He might save man and all creation which is in subjection to vanity. Thus, God in becoming man, has shown His heart to His children, but had any other means been used His infinite love would have remained forever hidden.
Be blessed Bro Chrioni
